Netherlands (NL) - Year-round pianos

Netherlands (NL) 1 piano

About the year-round pianos If ever you’d ask yourself why our website shows you an entire country as one year-round piano event, know this about the Netherlands (a.k.a. Holland): Comparatively, the area occupied by the Netherlands is slightly less than twice the size of the state of New Jersey. The Netherlands extends 312 km (194 mi) North-South and 264 km (164 mi) East-West.

Several people – like this gentleman or this 12-year old boy, for charity – played ALL Railway-station pianos in ONE day, go figure… We’ve been privileged to play amny of these pianos, over the years. NS – Dutch Railway keeps an actual survey of their station pianos HERE.

As tiny as the country is, it still holds the record for the largest ever Public Piano Event with ONE HUNDRED AND ONE art-worked pianos. Here you’ll find some more piano’s in Amsterdam, the Dutch capital, as embedded from Baragan.nl. Some do indeed overlap with our own findings.

Speaking of which, this random encounter at Amsterdam Central station has over 2 million views by now: Sadly, the Netherlands has it’s share of public piano vandalism too 🙁 Photo credit – AT5 (Amsterdam) and Police-officer/photographer Stay safe, stay healthy and enjoy playing at least some of these Dutch pianos.
